Dr. Doran Z Dobranszky
General Dentist
Dr. Doran Dobranszky grew up in Los Angeles and spent significant time as a child in Carpinteria. He earned his bachelor's degree from USC and then attended New York University College of Dentistry where he earned his D.D.S. degree. He then moved back to California and worked for a few years in the Los Angeles area before moving to the Santa Barbara area with Dr. Jen, whom he married in 2008. They have two children.
Dr. D enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and strives to help patients understand exactly what is going on with their oral health by thoroughly explaining treatment options and conditions that they may have. He feels that by doing this, patients will feel more comfortable and at ease during their appointments. Dr. D has worked in the Santa Barbara area since 2007. For many of those years, he was a provider at the UCSB student health center, dental department.
In his free time, Dr. D enjoys spending time with his family in this beautiful area that we live in and also has a passion for dune buggies. He enjoys building them and driving them and has raced several times in the Mexican 1000 in Baja California. Dr. D maintains active memberships with the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Santa Barbara-Ventura County Dental Society.
Dr. Jennifer Koumaras
Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Jennifer Koumaras grew up in Philadelphia, PA. She earned her bachelor's degree from Lafayette college and went to New York University College of Dentistry where she earned her D.D.S. degree in 2005. Dr. Jen had always really enjoyed working with children, so decided that she would pursue a specialty in Pediatric dentistry. She earned her pediatric specialty from St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. Not long after completing the pediatric residency, Dr. Jen and Dr. Doran, who met in dental school at NYU, were engaged to be married. They decided to settle in the Santa Barbara area since Dr. D grew up spending significant time in the area as a child and Dr. Jen wanted to live by the beach. They married and have two children.
Dr. Jen has been treating children in Santa Barbara since 2007. She believes that good experiences at the dentist as a child pave the way for a lifetime of good oral health. She strives to make her patients feel as comfortable as possible so that they can have the best, most positive experience at their dental visits. Dr. Jen supports many children in our community by going to different preschools and kindergartens to teach about the importance of diet, oral health and good home care techniques.
Dr. Jen maintains active memberships of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Santa Barbara-Ventura County Dental Society, American Association of Pediatric Dentists, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and Western Society of Pediatric Dentistry. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, knitting, and spending time outdoors enjoying the beautiful area that we get to call home.
